Despite the emergence in recent years of sealed pot pad printing machines, Teca Print's open ink well machines still have a big role to play in the world of pad printing. The Teca Print open ink wells are partially enclosed at all times thanks to the innovative design of a roller blind which covers the ink well when the doctor blade is in its front position. Open ink well machines are very useful for printing large images which may not always fit inside an ink pot machine. They are also favoured by trade printers or anyone involved with low volume production runs. The main reason for this, is the printing plate used on a Teca Print open ink well machine is half the size of that used on a similar sized Teca Print sealed pot machine, because the ink is drawn back into an ink well behind the plate. It is also possible to use less expensive water wash plates with the Teca Print open ink well system so the consumable costs are greatly reduced.
